Welcome to Healthy Neurotics
I'm Lysanne Sizoo...
I’m a transpersonal psychotherapist, counsellor, and writer with a rich background in international mental health.
Originally from the Netherlands, I began my career as a TV journalist before retraining to become a Psychotherapist. For over two decades, I have been dedicated to assisting people on their journeys to individuation and growth.
In 2000, I published Small Sparks of Life, telling the story of my journey to motherhood through five miscarriages. Small Sparks will soon be available for free right here at Healthy Neurotics. My intention is to create a community around this specific form of grief which is still very much forgotten, to collectively create a new edition of my book.
In 2009, I founded the first international counselling centre in Stockholm, specialising in cross-cultural issues, isolation, relocation fatigue, bereavement, and stress management. My collection of articles and workshops on these very specific mental health issues related to a life lived away from your country of origin, will soon become available at the International Mental Health Substack.
As a student of Psychosynthesis, Theosophy and Human Design, I have broadened my reach to include exploration of the higher, or trans-personal states of consciousness. It is my personal journey through these different states of mind, told in poetry, songs and articles that can be found here on Healthy Neurotics.
How can you work with me?
My therapeutic and creative work often focuses on psychological challenges faced by travellers of all kinds, from international nomads to seekers of embodied higher wisdom.
Anyone with the courage to travel runs the risk of losing their way. And those times of dis- and reorientation can become the most fruitful times for growth and insight. I will help you to navigate the complexities of internal and external relocation, identity, and adaptation.
My therapeutic approach emphasizes the importance of meaning, purpose, and trust in one's inner voice, guiding clients to reconnect with their higher consciousness and life flow. I also write extensively about these topics, blending my personal experiences with professional insights to support others through their life transitions.
